HAKU

A quiet space within form.

HAKU explores the relationship between the human body and the quiet space defined by its surrounding structure.

Inspired by Japanese spatial sensibilities, its faceted wooden shell surrounds a softly curved seat. The contrast between geometric planes and gentle surfaces defines a subtle boundary between the interior and the surrounding environment.

The concept draws on the image of a delicate, almost imperceptible membrane where consciousness meets the outside world. Developed as part of the KAI collection, HAKU seeks to translate this imagined boundary into physical form.

Stillness, held between inner and outer worlds.

かたちの内側に生まれる、静かな空間。

HAKUは、身体と、それを取り囲む構造によって生まれる静かな空間との関係を探るラウンジチェアです。

日本の空間文化に見られる感性から着想を得た幾何学的な木製シェルが、柔らかな曲面を持つ座面を囲みます。幾何学的な面と穏やかな曲面の対比によって、内側と周囲の環境との間に、繊細な境界を形づくります。

その着想の背景には、意識と外界が接する、薄い膜のような境界というイメージがあります。KAI（界）コレクションの一つとして、HAKUは、その目に見えない境界を造形へと置き換えることを試みています。

内と外の世界のあわいに宿る、静けさ。
